Oral Surgery

Oral Surgery is a branch of dental science which deals with the surgicial treatment of various oral diseases, oral pathologies and defects which involves the human face.

Various conditions require oral surgery such as Impacted

 Wisdom Teeth,
 Tooth Loss,
 Unequal Jaw growth,
 Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders,
 Facial injury repair,
 Lesion removal and biopsy,
Cleft lip and cleft palate repair,
 Facial infections and Snoring/sleep apnea.
 Dental Implant.

Wisdom teeth (third molars) sometimes emerge from the gum line. Also, in some cases, the third molars fail to emerge in correct alignment or fail to fully emerge through the gum line and gets trapped or impacted between the jawbone and the gum tissue. Impacted wisdom teeth can cause swelling, pain, and infection of the gum tissue surrounding the wisdom teeth. It can also cause a permanent damage to surrounding teeth, gums, and bone and can at times lead to the formation of cysts which may have a fatal effect in future. To keep things on a safer side, dentists suggest people with impacted wisdom teeth to remove them surgically.

In case of tooth/teeth loss (mainly because of accidents) dental implant is one of the best options. These are tooth root substitutes that are placed surgically in the jawbone and activate the artificial teeth to which they are attached.

Oral surgeries are extremely common in the medical circle and are very safe.
